The Bhrigu Lake Trek is an amazing place in the lap of Mighty Himalayas, located at 14,100 feet which lies in the east of the Rohtang Range. Bhrigu Lake Trek is one of the most popular treks of Manali.

It is decent route for those with less or without experience of trekking. This trek takes you through forests to high pastures and offers beautiful scenes of the Kullu – Manali Valley.

Bhrigu Lake is also meant to be spiritual and holy to the locals and is worshipped by the pilgrims on special occasions.

Bhrigu Lake is named after Maharishi Bhrigu and is an ancient saying that the sage used to mediate near the lake for years. Hence it has been rendered sacred due to the locals believe that this lake never freezes completely.

Day 1: Kulang Village – Mori Dugh

  • Start your Trek form village Kulang which is just 5 mins drive from Mall road Manali. It takes 4 hrs. to reach the Mori Dugh Base Camp.
  • On your arrival at camp you are welcomed with a hot lunch.
  • In the evening free time or you can take an acclimatization walk around the camp.
  • Spend the night at serene campsite.

Day 2: Mori – Dugh – Bhrigu Lake & Back

  • After an early breakfast and collecting packed lunch for the day, you’ll leave for Bhrigu Lake Trek.
  • For first two hours you’ll trek through dense silver oak forest. Reaching at an altitude of 10,000ft forest ends and meadows start.
  • Even in the summer months of April, May and June these meadows are snow-covered. So it gives you a good experience of snow trekking.
  • The trek gives a panoramic view of Manali valley. After reaching at Bhrigu spending some time there you descend down to the Mori Dugh Base Camp.

Day 3: Mori Dugh – Vashisht Village

  • A downhill trek will start from Mori Dugh Base Camp to Vashisht Village.
  • The village is one of the prominent tourist spots of Manali and is famous for its Hot Water Springs
  • You can take a dip into Hot Water in the public ponds here.
